Measure the chain length where it moves over sheaves

Is the chain section 3% longer than a new chain section?

Use a chain scale (Yale P/N 518098689) to check lift chains as shown in Figure 62

Ensure the engine compartment is free from obstacles

Check for the presence of combustible materials

Remove any combustible materials found

Ensure disposal of lubricants and fluids meets local environmental regulations

Replace the fuel filter at specified intervals to prevent contaminants from affecting diesel fuel flow

Stop the engine and allow it to cool

Close the fuel supply valve located on the fuel sending unit

Refer to Figure 61 for guidance

Drain the fuel into a container and dispose in accordance with local environmental regulations

Ensure no sparks or open flames are present in the work area

Close the fuel valve on the tank

Disconnect the negative battery cable

Ensure no liquid fuel continues to flow from the connections when loosened

Remove the bolt and seal washer retaining the top section of the fuel filter housing

Change engine oil and engine oil filter

Apply clean oil to the gasket of the new filter

Tighten the filter 1/2 to 3/4 turn with your hand after the gasket touches

Check the area around the oil filter for leaks

Is the oil and filter change performed at the first 100 hours of operation on new lift trucks?
