Lower the lift mechanism completely

Ensure no person is under a raised carriage

Ensure all parts of the mast are completely lowered and the engine is STOPPED before putting any part of your body in or through the lift mechanism

Do not attempt to correct the alignment of the fork tips by bending the forks or adding shims

Do not repair damaged forks by heating or welding; replace the forks as a set if damaged

Ensure lateral fork stops are in place before operating the forklift

Inspection of Mast and Carriage

Inspect welds on mast and carriage for cracks; ensure cap screws and nuts are tight

Change engine oil and engine oil filter

Use correct oil according to the Maintenance Schedule

Apply clean oil to the gasket of the new filter

Turn the filter until the gasket touches, then tighten 1/2 to 3/4 turn with your hand

Check the area around the oil filter for leaks

Ensure reference to 'How to Raise Drive Tires' in the manual

Place a container with a minimum capacity of 5 liters under the differential

Remove drain plug located in the bottom of the differential

Drain the oil from the differential completely

Ensure safety procedures are followed when working near the mast

Are both lift chains free from wear or damage?

Lubricate lift chains with SAE 30W engine oil

Remove chains and soak in engine oil if possible

Clean any dirt or grease from chains before lubricating

Avoid using steam to clean the lift chains

Remove floor plate to access rear tilt cylinder lubrication fittings

Does the gas cylinder operate correctly when the tilt lever is released?

Does the steering column remain stationary when the tilt lever is not released?
