Air Conditioner/Cab Heater Filter (Recirculation) - Inspect/Replace

Slide the operator seat forward

Slide the filter element upward

Tap the air filter to remove dirt (Do not use compressed air)

Inspect the filter element for damage or contamination

Return used batteries to one of the following locations

Battery or Battery Cable - Inspect/Replace

Cooling System Coolant Sample (Level 2) - Obtain

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual for guidelines on proper sampling of the coolant

Obtain the coolant sample close to the recommended sampling interval

Acquire supplies for collecting samples from Cat dealer

Submit the sample for Level 2 analysis

Refer to Special Publication SEBU6250 for additional information about coolant analysis or consult Cat dealer

Apply lubricant through fittings for the linkages

Apply lubricant through fittings for the bucket

Insert the pin into the stick nose

Apply grease through fitting (5)

Fill until grease flows out of plug (8)

Cooling System Coolant Sample (Level 1) - Obtain

Ensure personal safety measures are in place to avoid injury from hot coolant, steam, and alkali.

Is the cooling system filled with Cat ELC (Extended Life Coolant)?

If not filled with Cat ELC, check the type of coolant used

Use a designated pump for coolant sampling to avoid contamination.

Ensure fluids are contained and collected in suitable containers before opening any compartment.

Complete the information on the label for the sampling bottle before taking the samples.

Store unused sampling bottles in plastic bags.

Obtain coolant samples directly from the coolant sample port while the engine is running and at operating temperature.

Belt Inspection and Replacement

Unlatch and raise the engine hood.

Inspect the condition of the serpentine belt for wear or fraying.

Does the belt require replacement?

Lower and latch the engine hood.

Rotate the belt tensioner clockwise to remove the belt.
