2000 Hourly Turntable Rotation Gear Backlash Check

Preparation

Ensure the machine is fully stowed and the counterweight is at the square end of the machine

Ensure the machine is on a firm, level surface free of obstructions

Backlash Measurement

Rotate the turntable until the boom is centered between the circle end wheels

Apply approximately 20 lbs / 89 N of side force to the platform

Measure the gap between the swing hub pinion gear and the turntable rotation bearing at the center tooth on one of the drive hubs

Check the gap tolerance for the following models

Is the gap within the specified tolerance for your model?

2000 Hourly Steer Axle Wheel Bearings Lubrication

Preparation

Loosen the wheel lug nuts. Do not remove them.

Block the non-steer wheels, then center a lifting jack under the steer axle.

Raise the machine 6 inches / 15 cm and place blocks under the drive chassis for support.

Remove Wheel Assembly

Remove the lug nuts.

Remove the tire and wheel assembly.

Check Wheel Bearing Wear

Check for wheel bearing wear by attempting to move the wheel hub side to side, then up and down.

3 Monthly Safety Envelope Limit Switch Test

- Test the Safety Envelope Limit Switches, Z-135/70, ZX-135/70, SX-105 XC, SX-125 XC, SX-135 XC, SX-150 and SX-180 Models

Testing the machine envelope safety limit switches is critical to safe machine operation. If the boom is allowed to operate when a safety switch is not functioning correctly, the machine stability could be compromised and may tip over

Note: Perform this procedure with the boom in the stowed position

Note: Perform this procedure with the axles extended

Note: Two people will be required to perform this procedure

Secondary Boom #1 Retracted Safety Limit Switch, LSS1RS

1. Working at the platform end of the turntable, support and secure the lower turntable riser end cover to a suitable lifting device
