Check for conditions that require early maintenance

Stop the engine and allow it to cool

Loosen the cooling system filler cap slowly to relieve pressure

Remove the cooling system filler cap

Is the cooling system equipped with a drain valve?

Open the cooling system drain valve or remove the drain plugs to allow coolant to drain

Dispose of used engine coolant properly or recycle

Record any deviations from the procedure

Avoid contact with skin and eyes

Ensure cooling system components are cool before opening filler cap

Test the Concentration of the SCA

Test the concentration of the SCA with the 8T-5296 Coolant Conditioner Test Kit

Fill the syringe to the '1.0 ml' mark with the coolant

Dispense the 1.0 mL coolant sample into the empty mixing bottle

Ensure the engine is stopped and cool before starting the procedure.

Cooling System Filler Cap Removal

Loosen the cooling system filler cap slowly to relieve pressure.

Remove the cooling system filler cap.

Is it necessary to drain coolant to add the Extender?

If yes, describe the amount of coolant drained.

Add Extender according to engine’s cooling system capacity. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for details.

Complete the Label, PEEP5031 for identification of the sample.

Provide the following information for accurate analysis

Ensure hot oil and components do not contact the skin.

Is the oil warm and well mixed?

Ensure tools and supplies for obtaining oil samples are clean.

Use the sampling valve to obtain oil samples.

Oil Change Interval Verification

Verify that the following categories for oil change intervals have not been reached

Is the engine planned to be out of operation for more than three months?

Ensure complete protection procedure is recommended if engine storage exceeds three months

Use volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) oil to prevent internal engine damage due to moisture

Enter the amount of 4C-6792 VCI oil used (in liters)

Is the engine completely sealed for storage?
