Ensure the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool to touch.

Verify the lift truck is parked in an authorized refueling area with forks lowered, parking brake applied, transmission in NEUTRAL, and wheels blocked.

Ensure all cleaning solutions are handled with care.

Confirm antifreeze is handled with caution and any contact with skin is flushed immediately with water.

Loosen the radiator cover retaining knob and remove the radiator cover.

Turn the radiator filler cap slowly to relieve pressure and remove it.

Remove the engine block drain plug for diesel engine models.

Ensure no fuel is leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components.

Know the location of all emergency devices and how to use them.

Disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

Ensure the engine is stopped and cool.

Park the lift truck in an authorized refueling area.

Ensure the following conditions are met before starting the procedure.

Park the lift truck with the forks lowered on a level surface, parking brake applied, transmission in NEUTRAL, engine stopped and the wheels blocked.

Remove the battery and tank cover.

Remove the gasket and strainer.

Remove the gasket and return oil filter. Discard the filter element.

Clean the top of the battery before removing the filler caps

Add distilled water to the cells if the electrolyte level is low

Tighten the caps securely after adding water

Was any acid contact with eyes? If yes, flush with water and see a doctor immediately

Check the specific gravity of the battery cells using a battery hydrometer

Ensure no contact with hot oil or components

Operate the lift truck to warm the oil

Park the lift truck on a level surface
