CAT Vibratory Compactor CP-563E

Open the access door on the front left side of the machine.

Remove the air cleaner cover from the air cleaner housing.

Remove the primary filter element from the air cleaner housing.

Remove the secondary filter element.

Clean the inside of the air cleaner housing.

Rotate the drum until fill/drain plug (1) is located at the bottom.

Drain the oil into a suitable container.

Dispose of the oil in an acceptable manner.

Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, “General Hazard Information” for information that pertains to containing fluid spillage.

Inspect fill/drain plug (1) for metal debris.

Front Bumper Scraper Adjustment

Loosen the two bolts on the front bumper scraper

Adjust the front bumper scraper to 20 mm (0.79 inch) from the drum surface

Is there a steel scraper on the rear of the drum?

Loosen the two bolts on the rear drum scraper

Adjust the rear drum scraper to 20 mm (0.79 inch) from the drum surface

Ensure the vibratory support is located on the right side of the drum.

Prepare a suitable container for oil drainage.

Locate the drain plug (1) at the bottom of the vibratory support.

Remove drain plug (1) and drain the oil into the container.

Dispose of the oil in an acceptable manner.

NOTICE: Do not under fill or overfill engine crankcase with oil.

Stop the engine in order to check the oil level. DO NOT check the oil level when the engine is running.

Park the machine on a level surface.

Remove dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth.

Insert the dipstick, remove it, and note the oil level.

Is the oil level between the FULL RANGE mark and the ADD OIL mark?
