New Pistons Cleaning
Use a non-flammable cleaning solvent and a soft bristle brush to remove protective film from new pistons.
Dry pistons with compressed air, coat with clean engine oil and assemble into engine immediately.
Used Pistons Cleaning
Immerse pistons in a concentrated solution of a liquid cleaner heated to 122° F (50° C) for a minimum of 24 hours to remove carbon deposits.
Use a hard brass brush to remove stubborn deposits.
Use a ring groove cleaner to remove carbon deposits from piston ring grooves.
Clean oil drain notches located in oil control ring groove without using a wire brush.

Verify no combustible atmosphere is present during testing.
Keep all body parts away from the ignition coil during tests.
Preliminary Checks
Verify 24 VDC at power supply and at CEC Ignition Module.
Is there a difference of more than 1 VDC between the power supply and the Ignition Module?
If greater than 1 VDC difference
