Select Maintenance > Cleaning the Maintenance Parts > Wiping around the Cap on the LCD screen

Load roll paper or cut sheet paper in the printer

Ensure the correct paper type is selected

Select Paper Feed Adjustment Mode

If Manual, select adjustment setting

Select Start to print an adjustment pattern

For Quality First: Follow instructions on LCD to select best patterns and confirm

Run a nozzle check before aligning the print head

Are there any gaps in the nozzle check pattern?

Clean the print head if there are gaps in the nozzle check pattern

Ensure no direct sunlight enters the printer

Load roll paper or cut sheet paper in the printer (at least 15.2 × 21.9 inches)

Is the correct paper type selected?

Select alignment method from the control panel

Press the home button, if necessary.

Check the ink color icons at the bottom of the home screen.

Is the caution icon displayed on any ink color or maintenance box?

Access the Windows Desktop and click the printer icon for your product in the taskbar.

Click your product name to check the status.

Is there a need to replace or reinstall any ink color or maintenance box?

Ensure replacement cartridges are available before starting.

Remove the old ink cartridge by placing your finger in the groove at the top and pulling it out.

Dispose of used cartridges carefully.

Ensure no ink is spilled on the surrounding area.
