Clean ignition coil contacts at every spark plug change.

Test by replacing ignition coil with one that is known to be good or refer to 'Ignition Coil Testing'.

Magneto Drive Coupling Inspection

Inspect magneto drive coupling for wear or damage.

Enter the hours since last coupling replacement.

Has the coupling been replaced every 4000 hours or when wear is observed?

Record cylinder compression readings for all cylinders

Is the cylinder compression within the acceptable range?

Quick Start Governor Oil Filter Change

Remove the old oil filter from the quick start governor

Install a new oil filter on the quick start governor

Check for leaks after replacing the oil filter

Verify all maintenance tools are accounted for

Remove the valves from the cylinder head

Clean the valves with a power driven wire brush

Ensure no scratches on the valve stem after cleaning

Is valve recession greater than 0.118 in. (3.00 mm)?

Replace both valve and seat if recession exceeds limit

Regrind valve seats to a 20° angle if recession is acceptable

Inspect rocker arm tips for wear

Replace rocker arm tip if any damage is found

Oil Tubes and Passages Inspection

Ensure all rocker arm oil tubes and oil passages are free of obstructions

Check if the ball socket rotates freely in the rocker arm

Inspect rocker arm bearings for wear

Clean magnetic plug -- turbo supply

Change oil cooler (oil side) at oil change -- 1000 hours

Change oil filter elements and seals at oil change -- 1000 hours

Change engine oil (continuous duty) GL, GLD

Special Considerations for Specific Engines

Note any special considerations for ebullient cooled engines, hot water systems, or engines using gaseous fuel containing H2S in excess of published limits
