Caterpillar Excavator 325F

Park the machine on level ground and lower the bucket to the ground.

Remove bolts, washers, and cover from the top of the hydraulic tank.

Clean the area thoroughly to keep dirt out of the screen cover and filler cap.

Relieve the hydraulic tank pressure by turning the cap slowly.

Remove the hydraulic tank access cover to access the drain valve.

Remove plug and inspect the O-ring for wear or damage.

Install swivel hose with clear plastic tubing and loosen drain plug to drain the oil.

Apply lubricant through fittings for the linkages

Apply lubricant through fittings for the bucket

Insert the pin into the stick nose

Apply grease through fitting (5)

Fill until grease flows out of plug (8)

Ensure no fuel is leaked or spilled on hot surfaces or electrical components

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel

Is the disconnect switch turned OFF or battery disconnected?

Ensure no smoking while working on the fuel system

Fuel Lift Pump Strainer Replacement

Open the right side access door

Close the fuel shut off valve by turning it clockwise

Disconnect the hoses from the strainer and remove the strainer

Clean the battery surface with a clean cloth

Coat the battery terminals with petroleum jelly

Install the post cover after coating the terminal post

Fuel Tank Cap Filter Replacement

Remove filter element screws and old filter element

Wash the fuel tank cap in a clean, nonflammable solvent

Ensure protective clothing or equipment is worn to protect skin from hot parts.

Verify that the cooling system pressure cap is cool enough to touch before removal.

Park the machine on level ground.

Unlatch and raise the engine hood.

Has the cooling system cooled down sufficiently?
