3 Monthly Insulation Resistance Testing
SECTION: 2.4 Insulation resistance test during storage
Even during storage, the insulation resistance should be kept above the specified values
Insulation resistance test should be performed once every three months
SECTION: 4.1.2 Measurement of insulation resistance
WARNING — During and immediately after measuring, the terminals must not be touched as they may carry residual dangerous voltages:
Furthermore, if power cables are connected, make sure that the power supplies are clearly disconnected and there are no moving parts
For rated voltage below 1000V, measured with a 500 VDC megger
For rated voltage above 1000V, measured with a 1000VDC megger
In accordance with IEEE 43, clause 9.3, the following formula should be applied: R~ (Rated voltage (v) / 1000 + 1) x 10 (MΩ)
1 Daily Sleeve Bearing Inspection
5.6.1 Daily inspections
Ensure the volume and quality of lubrication oil are in compliance with specifications
Check motion of the oil ring to ensure it is not clamped
Measure the shaft endplay and ensure it is within the specified range of the red groove of the shaft
Is the shaft endplay within the ±0.118 in. (±3mm) range of the drive-end shaft shoulder?
3 Yearly Non-Reverse Ratchet Pin Replacement
Check for reverse shock load conditions
Check starting frequency conditions
Inspect ratchet pins for deformation
Listen for unusual noises from ratchet pins
Replace ratchet pins if necessary
Inspect check valve and stop valve in the discharge line
Maintain check valve and stop valve if necessary
Slip Ring Carbon Brush Maintenance
Brush Replacement
Check the wear level of the carbon brush
Is the brush worn beyond acceptable limits?
Replace the carbon brush if worn beyond acceptable limits
Brush Material
Verify the brush material against the motor's nameplate
Is the recommended brush material being used?
Dimensions
Refer to CNS 2322 C4051 or JIS C2802 for brush, holder, and gap dimensions
Anti-Friction Bearings Oil Change
5.5.5 Oil Re-lubrication
Change the oil at regular intervals
Determine the interval for oil changes based on operating conditions
Is the ambient temperature high, requiring more frequent oil changes?
Avoid operating the motor with oxidized oil
Use only good grade, oxidation-corrosion-inhibited turbine oils from reputable companies
Is the ambient temperature near or below freezing?
Preheat the oil or use special oil if necessary
Use the lubrication oil stipulated on the motor's lubrication nameplate, if available
