Listen for any abnormal noises and check cause immediately
Check for any vibration and check cause immediately if excessive vibration is found

Is the motor 1 thru 7-1/2 HP running at 1800 RPM or less?

1 Monthly Anti-Friction Bearing Re-Lubrication
Section 3 — Lubrication Procedure
Ensure lubrication is done with the motor stationary and warm
Locate and prepare the grease inlet
Remove relief plug
Is grease caked around the plug?
If severe caking appears, run the motor until the bearing housing is warm
Locate the motor nameplate and find the recommended lubricant type and volume
Record the recommended lubricant type and volume from the nameplate
Add the recommended volume of lubricant using a hand operated grease gun

Rotate the motor shaft 15 times to redistribute the grease within the bearing

Has the motor been greased in the last 6 months?

Ensure lubrication is done with the motor running, stay clear of rotating parts and electrical circuits
Avoid over-lubrication of the motor
Relubricate with the shaft stationary and a warm motor
Locate the grease inlet, clean the area and replace the pipe plug with a grease fitting if necessary
Remove relief plug and clean if grease is caked
Is there severe caking at the plug?
Run the motor until the bearing housing is warm if severe caking is present
Locate the motor nameplate and find the recommended lubricant type and volume
