Change the oil at regular intervals
Determine the interval for oil changes based on operating conditions
Is the oil oxidized?
Use only good grade, oxidation-corrosion-inhibited turbine oils
Is the ambient temperature near or below freezing?

Clean the interior of the bearing housing and flush with clean oil or kerosene
Wipe the bearing halves and shaft journal with a lint-free cloth soaked in clean oil
Inspect all parts for nicks, scratches, etc., and remove imperfections
Check the condition of the floating labyrinth seal halves before installation
Ensure the bottom half seal is positioned correctly with drilled holes at the bottom
Apply a bead of Curil-T around the seal half O.D.'s on both sides adjacent to the garter spring groove
Place the bottom seal half on top of the shaft and roll it into position
Install the top seal half and insert the garter spring, ensuring it is locked

Pour in approximately one cup of oil
