Is the reverse shock load greater than 30% of motor rated torque?

Is the starting frequency more than twice per day?

Inspect ratchet pins for deformation due to reverse shock load.

Check for sluggish or jammed motion of ratchet pins.

Listen for unusual noises from the ratchet pins.

Replace ratchet pins if any deformation or unusual noise is detected.

Ensure the volume and quality of lubrication oil are in compliance with specifications

Check motion of the oil ring to ensure it is not clamped

Is the indicator of the shaft endplay within the specified range of the red groove of the shaft?

Is the shaft endplay within the ±0.118 in. (±3mm) range of the drive-end shaft shoulder?

2.6 Bearing protection — anti-friction bearings

Rotate the shaft several revolutions to maintain grease distribution

Has a significant period of time elapsed since manufacture or during storage?

Re-grease the bearings if a significant period of time has elapsed

Replenish and purge with fresh grease at start up

Is the carbon brush worn to 1/2 ~ 3/4 of its original size?

Replace the carbon brush if worn to 1/2 ~ 3/4 of its original size

Verify the brush material on the motor's nameplate

Record the recommended brush type for replacement

Refer to CNS 2322 C4051 or JIS C2802 for brush, holder, and gap dimensions

Is the gap between the brush and its holder within the recommended dimensions?

Refer to Table 1 for base interval and halve it for specific conditions

Check lubrication nameplate on the motor

Use shorter grease replenishment period if drive-end and opposite drive-end periods differ

Ensure use of identical grease or its equivalents

Is the motor a T-frame model with special grease requirements?
