Stop the engine before checking and changing the engine oil and the oil filter cartridge.

Ensure the engine and exhaust components are cool before inspection.

Wear gloves to avoid skin contact with engine oil.

Check the engine oil level before starting or more than 5 minutes after stopping the engine.

Remove the oil level gauge, wipe it clean, and reinstall it.

Take the oil level gauge out again, and check the oil level.

Replace the following rubber piping

Stop the engine and remove the key

Reinstall the detached safety shield after maintenance

Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt between the pulleys

Is the belt tension within acceptable limits?

Loosen the alternator mounting bolts if tension is incorrect

Use a lever to adjust the alternator position

Water Separator Filter Replacement

Replace the water separator filter with a new one every 500 hours or 1 year.

Remove the old water separator filter with a filter wrench.

Apply a film of oil to the gasket for the new water separator filter.

Screw in the water separator filter by hand.

Stop the engine and remove the key

Reinstall the detached safety shield after maintenance or checking

Apply moderate thumb pressure to belt between the pulleys

Is the belt tension within acceptable limits?

Loosen the alternator mounting bolts if tension is incorrect
