Run the engine and verify normal operation of transmission and hydraulic functions.

Raise yourself from the seat for more than 2.5 sec.

Verify that hydraulic lift, lower and tilt functions do not operate as long as you are raised from the seat.

Verify that the transmission has been disengaged.

Verify that hydraulic lift, lower and tilt functions operate again after you have re-seated.

Verify that the transmission can be re-engaged.

Verify maintenance records for air filter replacement schedule

Ensure Tier 3/Stage IIIA Air Filter sensor is functioning properly

Is air filter replacement required?

Replace the filter element if required

Clean the inside of the filter housing

Record filter replacement details

Safety Filter Element Replacement

!CAUTION: DO NOT remove the complete hydraulic oil breather cap assembly to avoid dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

Is the yellow indicator on the hydraulic oil breather cap raised?

Replace the filter element in the hydraulic oil breather if the indicator is fully or almost fully raised.

Push the yellow indicator down to release pressure from the hydraulic oil breather cap before replacing the element.

Remove the hydraulic oil breather cap and clean the inside of the breather cap.

Install a new filter element and replace the hydraulic oil breather cap.

Push the yellow indicator down.

Use a wrench to loosen the bowl that holds the filter cartridge

Remove and replace the filter cartridge

Reinstall the bowl and torque to 20 N•m (177.02 lbf in)

Lower the lift mechanism completely.

Ensure no one is under a raised carriage.

Do not put any part of your body in or through the lift mechanism unless all parts of the mast are completely lowered and the engine is STOPPED.

Secure the mast weldments and carriage into position with chains.

Ensure moving parts are attached to a non-moving part.

Are both lift chains in good condition?

Slacken the chains by setting the forks or attachment on a support.
