Safety Precautions
Ensure transmission is cool before maintenance
Prevent dirt from entering the transmission
Dispose of lubricants and fluids according to local environmental regulations
Check transmission oil level
Ensure engine is running at idle and park brake is applied
Locate the dipstick and fill tube (refer to Figure 53)
Check if oil level is at the 'FULL' mark on the dipstick
Add transmission oil if necessary

Safety Precautions
Lower the lift mechanism completely
Ensure no person is under a raised carriage
Do not put any part of your body in or through the lift mechanism unless all parts of the mast are completely lowered and the engine is STOPPED

Check all retaining hardware for carriage, mast pivots, and tilt cylinder rod ends for tightness and condition

Is the warning light on the instrument panel ON?
Locate the fuel/water separator on the left-hand side of the truck
Open the drain valve by turning it counter clockwise until draining occurs
Drain water into a cup until clean fuel flows from the valve
Close the valve after draining is complete
