Ensure transmission is cool before starting maintenance

Prevent dirt from entering the transmission during maintenance

Ensure disposal of lubricants and fluids meets local environmental regulations

Record hour meter reading before checking oil level

Ensure engine is running at idle and park brake is applied

Check and record transmission oil level on dipstick

Is the oil level at the 'FULL' mark on the dipstick?

!WARNING: DO NOT remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. When the radiator cap is removed from the expansion tank, the pressure is released from the system. If the system is hot, the steam and boiling coolant can cause burns.

!CAUTION: Additives in the coolant may damage the cooling system. Before using additives, contact your local HYSTER dealer.

Is the coolant level between the 'MIN' and 'MAX' mark on the expansion tank when cold?

Is the Coolant Level Warning Light ON during operation of the truck?

Is the coolant level at or below the 'MIN' mark?

Add OAT type coolant until just below the 'MAX' mark on the expansion tank.

Note the date and quantity of coolant added.

Ensure the mast is lifted and blocks are placed under the mast

Tilt the mast forward until the drive tires start lifting off the ground

Ensure the carriage and mast are in the lowered position

Lubricate the fittings for the mast pivot pins under no load conditions

Use approved oils, fluids, and grease

Is the lubrication evenly applied to all fittings?

Are the coolant hoses collapsed when the engine is cold?

Replace the radiator cap if hoses are collapsed

Inspect the condition of the coolant hoses for the following issues

Place the lift truck on a solid, level surface.

Tilt the mast completely forward.

Place blocks in front of and behind the tires to prevent movement of the lift truck.
