Record the water hardness level

Record the pH level of the water

Record the conductivity of the water

Log any anomalies or issues observed during the test

Rapidly discharge approximately two liters of water from the water sampling port.

Thoroughly wash the sampling beaker with the sample water.

Add four drops of hardness indicator to the sampling beaker.

Add approximately 20 mL of sample water and agitate well to mix.

Fill the sampling beaker up to the 50-mL level by collecting more sample water.

Determine the water hardness based on the color of the solution in the sampling beaker.

Ensure no work other than indicated is carried out on the boiler.

Confirm water in supply lines has cooled down sufficiently (at least two hours after boiler shutdown).

Turn off the breaker for the boiler’s main power.

Confirm that the steam pressure gauge is reading 0 PSI.

Open the blowdown valve for the feed water tank.

Record the safety valve's release pressure

Is the safety valve's release pressure within the acceptable range?

Inspect the safety valve for any signs of leakage or abnormality

Is there any sign of leakage or abnormality?

Contact MIURA sales office or local dealer if leakage or abnormality is suspected

Check for proper chemical feed.

Ensure there is no air in the chemical feed pump or lines.

Verify boiler make-up water is completely soft using a test kit sensitive to less than 1.0 PPM.

Ensure the water softener timer or softener flow meter is working.

Check for hardening (caking) of the salt in the brine tank and break the salt into small pieces if necessary.
