Confirm that the chemical feed is as required.

Confirm that sufficient liquid is present to properly dissolve chemicals.

Confirm that there is no air in the chemical feed pump or feed line.

Open the ball valve at the bottom of the LVC to test the Low Water Volume Cut-off.

Allow time for the steam pressure to force the water out of the LVC.

Did the low water cut-off probe lose contact with the water for more than 15 seconds?

Did the boiler shift to stand-by mode and shut down after 15 seconds?

Did the alarm sound and the BL11 Microcomputer display 'WATER ALARM 1'?

Confirm that the boiler has been shutdown.

Is the steam pressure gauge reading 30 PSI?

Turn off the breaker for the boiler’s main power.

Confirm that the steam pressure gauge is reading 0 PSI.

Is the steam pressure gauge reading 0 PSI?

Open the blowdown valve for the feed water tank.

When the discharge of water ends, close the feed water tank’s blowdown valve.

Check for proper chemical feed.

Ensure there is no air in the chemical feed pump or lines.

Verify boiler make-up water is completely soft using a test kit sensitive to less than 1.0 PPM.

Ensure the water softener timer or softener flow meter is working.

Check for hardening (caking) of the salt in the brine tank and break the salt into small pieces if necessary.
