Have you received instruction from MIURA maintenance personnel?

Has the boiler cooled down sufficiently?

Turn off the breaker for the boiler’s main power.

Record the safety valve's release pressure

Is the safety valve's release pressure within the acceptable range?

Inspect the safety valve for any signs of leakage or abnormality

Is there any sign of leakage or abnormality?

Contact MIURA sales office or local dealer if leakage or abnormality is suspected

Enter the gas pressure reading from the boiler’s gas pressure gauge

Is the gas pressure within the required range of 3 to 5 PSI?

Action if Pressure is Out of Range

Shutdown the boiler as described in Section 8.3: Boiler Shutdown

Contact MIURA sales office or local dealer for further instruction and note down the advice received

Check for proper chemical feed.

Ensure there is no air in the chemical feed pump or lines.

Verify boiler make-up water is completely soft using a test kit sensitive to less than 1.0 PPM.

Ensure the water softener timer or softener flow meter is working.

Check for hardening (caking) of the salt in the brine tank and break the salt into small pieces if necessary.

Startup the boiler as described in Section 8.1: Boiler Startup

Enter the reading on the steam pressure gauge

Is the steam pressure within the normal range?

Is the gauge pointer stable and not swinging wildly?

Shutdown the boiler immediately if steam pressure is not within the normal range
