Miura Steam Boiler LXH-200

Ensure no work other than indicated is carried out on the boiler.

Allow sufficient time for the boiler to cool down before starting work.

Receive instruction from MIURA maintenance personnel for cleaning the UV sensor’s protective glass.

Turn off the breaker for the boiler’s main power.

Remove the mounting screws from the phototube base.

Startup the boiler as described in Section 8.1: Boiler Startup

Enter the reading on the steam pressure gauge

Is the steam pressure within the normal range?

Acknowledge that no work other than that clearly indicated is to be carried out on the boiler

Acknowledge the warning about abnormal steam pressure levels

Ensure no work other than indicated is carried out on the boiler

Confirm water in supply lines has cooled down (at least two hours after boiler shutdown)

Turn off the breaker for the boiler’s main power

Confirm that the steam pressure gauge is reading 0 PSI

Open the blowdown valve for the feed water tank

Check for proper chemical feed.

Ensure there is no air in the chemical feed pump or lines.

Verify boiler make-up water is completely soft (use a test kit sensitive to less than 1.0 PPM).

Ensure the water softener timer or softener flow meter is working.

Confirm the by-pass valve is closed and inlet and outlet valves are open.

Check for hardening (caking) of the salt in the brine tank and break the salt into small pieces if necessary.

Record the water hardness level

Record the pH level of the water

Record the conductivity of the water

Is the water quality within the acceptable range?

Log any deviations or issues found during the test
