Position the load holding valve on the derricking cylinder

Install the four capscrews that fasten the load holding valve onto the derricking cylinder

Remove caps and connect the hydraulic lines to the load holding valve according to the identification tags made during removal

Connect the electrical wires to the load holding valve according to the identification tags made during removal

Do not try to locate hydraulic leaks by putting hands on pressurized hydraulic components. Hydraulic oil can be injected into the body by pressure.

Never start the engine with closed shutoff valves. Open the shutoff valves before starting the engine to prevent damage to hydraulic components.

Start the engine and operate the hydraulic system

Check that functions of the load holding valve work correctly

Use only plugs that have been cleaned in solvent.

Check manifold for missing seals and remove if any are missing.

Replace valve if cartridge valves are defective, except for external seals and electrical solenoids.

Check load holding valve for cracks and replace if any cracks are found.

Unscrew the cartridge valve from the load holding valve.

Check that all seals are attached to cartridge valve.

Install a temporary plug in place of cartridge valve.

Clean flange of the pump assembly and mounting surface on the torque converting housing.

Install pump assembly on the torque converting housing.

Apply sealant on the flange of the pump assembly.

Tighten capscrews to 90 N•m (66 lbf ft).

Connect the hydraulic hoses to the pump assembly.

Tighten capscrews for flange of high-pressure hoses to 190 N•m (140 lbf ft).

Shut down the engine and apply the parking brake

Apply brakes to relieve hydraulic pressure

Remove the capscrews retaining the cover of the filters

Carefully remove the filter cartridge without spilling dirt or particles

Variable Displacement Pump Assembly

Verify internal parts of the pump are clean

Lubricate parts with hydraulic oil before assembly

Use new O-rings during assembly

Install the swash plate section in the pump housing

Install the O-rings in the pump housing

Install the adjustment shim on the drive shaft

Install the bearing on the drive shaft

Align the port plate to the pump housing with the cylinder pin
