Cover the ice discharge opening to prevent water from splashing out
Cleaning Solution Preparation
Add sufficient ice machine cleaner to the water tank
4000 Hourly Oil Repalcement
Oil Level Check
Check the oil level in the sight glass
Is the oil level below 1/4 of the sight glass?
Add two quarts of 300 S SU viscosity refrigeration oil if needed
Crankcase Heater Preparation
Has the crankcase heater been energized for at least four hours?
Check the oil temperature
Net Oil Pressure Check
Enter the oil pressure gauge reading
V-Belt Maintenance
Cleaning the V-Belt
Wipe the belt with a dry cloth to remove surface dirt.
Wash the belt with soap and water, then rinse well.
Ensure no belt dressing is used on the V-belt drive.
Checking and Adjusting Belt Tension
Apply deflection force (50-75 pounds) and measure deflection between pulley centers.
Is the deflection between 5/8” to 3/4”?
Measure the outside circumference of the belt to the nearest 1/4”.
Calculate and elongate the belt to the new length using the formula: Circumference x .0075 and .001.
Gear Reducer Replacement
Disconnect and lock out all power to the machine
Disconnect electrical wires and conduit from the motor
Remove the top and side bolts holding the mounting plate to the support bracket and lift the plate and gear reducer assembly from the tank bracket
Inspect the drive gear teeth for proper vertical alignment and wear pattern
Measure the distance for correction if wear pattern indicates less than full width of tooth engagement
Measure and record the distance of the drive gear from the mounting plate or the split hub from the shaft end
Remove the cap screws from the split taper bushing
Use cap screws as jacking screws to push the drive gear from the hub
Drive a wedge in the split of the hub and slide both the hub and gear from the shaft
Water Tank Cleaning
