Stop the machine at the end of harvest.

Drain the water tank, flushing out any loose sediment.

Close the drain valve and fill the tank with warm water.

Cover the ice discharge opening to prevent water splashing.

Enter the water height in the tank (in inches).

Inspection of Water Distributors

Is the view through the plastic freezer cover clear for inspection?

Stop the unit for closer inspection if necessary.

Remove the nuts and retaining ring sections.

Ensure the following conditions are met

Removal of Water Distributors for Cleaning

Grip the top of the distributor body with adjustable pliers.

Hold and twist the distributor while pulling upward.

Remove the belt guard and loosen motor hold-down bolts

Move the motor and sheave closer to the compressor until there is enough slack to remove the old belts

Clean the sheave groove if necessary with non-flammable, non-toxic degreasing agent or commercial detergent

Install new belts by rotating the belt and sheaves to obtain seating in the grooves

Note on drives having more belt grooves in the sheaves than needed, use the grooves closest to the motor and compressor. Make sure that the belts are all slack on the same side of the drive, preferably the bottom, prior to tightening.

Move the sheaves apart until the belts are snug

Disconnect and lock-out all power

Remove the water tank assembly to access the cutter assembly

Remove the 3/8” cap screws holding the blades to the cutter plate

Install the cap screws and washers without tightening

Is the oil level below 1/4 of the sight glass?

Add two quarts of 300 S SU viscosity refrigeration oil if needed

Crankcase Heater and Oil Temperature

Was the crankcase heater energized for at least four hours?
