Wash the belt with soap and water

Apply 50-75 pounds of deflection force across the belt

Measure the deflection using a straight edge

Is the deflection between 5/8” to 3/4”?

Is the oil level below 1/4 of the sight glass?

Add two quarts of 300 S SU viscosity refrigeration oil if needed

Was the crankcase heater energized for at least four hours?

Remove the cutter assembly from the cutter shaft

Remove the drive pins holding the ring gear to the cutter bank

Drive off the ring gear progressively and uniformly

Inspect and clean the cutter bank

Attempt to fit the new gear onto the cutter and check for fit

Heat the ring gear uniformly to 300 - 400°F (150 - 205°C)

Align and set the ring gear onto the cutter

Drill holes in the valley of the ring gear and install the drive pins

Refer to the space diagrams to ensure ample room for removing the condenser heads and using the mechanical cleaning equipment.

Order replacement cover gaskets for reassembly.

Disconnect and lock-out power to the ice machine and auxiliary equipment.

Disconnect water piping and drain the condenser.

Loosen the cover (heads) hex nuts and separate the covers from the condenser end to drain additional water.

Remove the heads stud bolts and gasket completely.

Control Calibration and Operation

Check calibration and operation of all controls

Check cooling tower spray nozzles for scaling and algae

Check pump suction screen for scaling and algae

Freezer and Water System Inspection

Check water distributors in freezer for scale accumulation

Check water tank for solids to be removed
