Ensure the following safety measures are in place before starting

Obtain and review the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid

Carefully remove valve cap and loosen locknut on adjusting screw

Install a pressure gauge in the discharge line

Adjust the pressure setting by turning the adjusting screw

Close the discharge line beyond the pressure gauge

Limit the operation time to prevent temperature rise inside the pump

Ensure all safety measures are followed before opening any Viking pump liquid chamber

Obtain a material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid

Insert brass or plastic bar through port opening between rotor teeth or lock coupling end of shaft to keep shaft from turning

Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft using a spanner wrench

Remove brass or plastic bar from port opening

Loosen the two setscrews in the face of the bearing housing and remove the bearing housing assembly from the bracket

Remove pair of half round rings under the inner spacer collar from the shaft (K, KK, LQ, LL, LS Sizes ONLY)

Ensure pressure in the chamber has been completely vented

Ensure the driving means has been locked out or made non-operational

Verify knowledge of the liquid handled by the pump and obtain MSDS

Loosen the two set screws in the outer face of the bearing housing

Rotate the bearing housing clockwise until it cannot be turned anymore

Mark the outside diameter of the bearing housing and the pump bracket

Make a second mark on the pump bracket as per Table 4

Select the pump series for relubrication

Add grease to the bracket grease fitting until it comes out of the relief fitting on the opposite side of the bracket

Regrease the bearing housing until grease comes out of the shaft end lip seal

Type of grease used for bearing housing

Ensure all necessary tools and materials are available, including lubricant and press.

Add a chamfer on the bushing and the mating part.

Ensure the bushing is started straight.

Do not stop pressing operation until bushing is in proper position.

Check bushing for cracks after installation.
