Safety Precautions
Ensure the following safety measures are in place before opening any Viking pump liquid chamber
Obtain and review the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid
Removal: Packing
Insert brass or plastic bar through port opening between rotor teeth or lock coupling end of shaft to keep shaft from turning
Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft using a spanner wrench
Remove brass or plastic bar from port opening
Loosen the two setscrews in the face of the bearing housing and remove the bearing housing assembly from the bracket
Remove pair of half round rings under the inner spacer collar from the shaft (K, KK, LQ, LL, LS Sizes ONLY)
Initial 100 Hours Reducer Lubricant Change
Oil Type Selection
Select the oil type based on temperature conditions
Oil Quantity Verification
Verify the oil quantity for each reducer size
Lubricant Change Procedure
Drain the old lubricant from the reducer
Refill the reducer with the new lubricant to the proper level

O-Pro Barrier Seal Replacement
Safety Precautions
Ensure all safety measures are in place before starting
Removal of O-Pro™ Barrier Seal
Insert length of hardwood or brass through port opening to keep shaft from turning
Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft using a spanner wrench
Loosen two set screws in the face of the bearing housing and remove the bearing housing assembly from the bracket
Remove the pair of half round rings under the inner spacer collar from the shaft (K, KK, L, LQ, LL, and LS sizes only)
Loosen the gland nuts securing the O-Pro™ Barrier into the bracket and remove the T-bolts
Thread the jack bolts into the tapped holes at the 6 and 12 o’clock position on the face of the O-Pro™ Barrier and remove it through the bearing housing opening

Ensure safety measures before opening any Viking pump liquid chamber
Pump Assembly Steps
Install bracket bushing if removed due to wear
Install bracket and bushing assembly on the casing
Coat shaft of rotor/shaft assembly with light oil and insert into bracket bushing
Coat idler pin with light oil and place idler and bushing on idler pin in head
Install head and idler assembly on pump using a .010 to .015 inch thick head gasket
Install the lipseal in the bearing housing

Bracket Grease Fitting Lubrication
Add grease to the bracket grease fitting until it comes out of the relief fitting on the opposite side of the bracket
