Viking Positive Displacement Pump LL1124AE

Ensure all safety measures are in place before opening any Viking pump liquid chamber

Obtain and review the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid

Insert brass or plastic bar through port opening between rotor teeth or lock coupling end of shaft to keep shaft from turning

Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft using a spanner wrench

Remove brass or plastic bar from port opening

Loosen the two setscrews in the face of the bearing housing and remove the bearing housing assembly from the bracket

Remove pair of half round rings under the inner spacer collar from the shaft (K, KK, LQ, LL, LS Sizes ONLY)

Ensure all safety measures are in place before starting

Insert hardwood or brass through port opening to keep shaft from turning

Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft

Loosen set screws and remove bearing housing assembly

Remove half round rings under inner spacer collar from shaft (K, KK, L, LQ, LL, LS sizes only)

Loosen gland nuts and remove T-bolts securing O-Pro Barrier

Thread jack bolts and remove O-Pro Barrier through bearing housing opening

Ensure pressure in the chamber is completely vented

Lock out or make non-operational the driving means

Identify the liquid the pump has been handling

Obtain and understand the material safety data sheet (MSDS) for the liquid

Loosen the two set screws in the outer face of the bearing housing

Rotate the bearing housing clockwise until it cannot be turned anymore

Mark the outside diameter of the bearing housing and the pump bracket

Ensure all safety measures are in place before opening the pump chamber

Removal of Component Mechanical Seal

Insert brass or plastic bar through port opening to keep shaft from turning

Bend up tang of lockwasher and remove locknut and lockwasher from shaft

Loosen set screws in the face of the bearing housing and remove the bearing housing assembly

Remove the pair of half round rings under the inner spacer collar from the shaft

Loosen nuts and remove seal holder, seal seat, and seal gasket(s)

Loosen setscrews in mechanical seal rotary member

Measure the current end clearance

Refer to TSM for specific model series

Was the end clearance adjusted according to TSM guidelines?

Is the pump performance improved?
