What's New at MaintainX: September 2026

Our latest updates were built to save you time getting these things done. New AI capabilities and data management tools released in the past few weeks make it easier and faster for your frontline teams to create and act on information in MaintainX.

Get fast answers from your data with Report Builder AI Chat

It’s easy to get lost in deep reporting capabilities. Whether you’re building a report yourself or trying to make sense of somebody else’s, it can feel like the answers you need should be easier to get.

Report Builder AI Chat makes this possible. Ask a question the way you'd ask a colleague, — like which asset had the most work orders last month — and get an immediate answer.

From there, you can:

• Ask for a starting report, then refine it in place
• Reopen any saved report to ask follow-up questions or get an explanation of what it shows
• Continue to ask questions about the report to get you the answers you need

Create a work request without typing a word

Technicians and machine operators don't always have a spare hand, or the time, to fill out a detailed work request before getting back to the job.

AI Work Request makes it easier for your teams to submit a request, without sacrificing the level of detail you need.

They can talk it through in a guided conversation, record a voice note, or type a quick description. And, however they choose to describe the issue, MaintainX AI will fill in the title, description, location, and priority, building a draft of the request that’s ready for review.

Scan the asset's QR code first, and the asset details populate automatically too. Describe a leak near a seal, for instance, and MaintainX AI can ask a quick follow-up, like whether it's steady or intermittent, before finishing the draft.

Import and update data in bulk more easily

A self-serve import used to require you to finish mapping columns and clearing errors in one sitting. But now your progress saves automatically as you work through an import, allowing you to come back to it later if needed.

You can see every import that's still in draft in one place, and resume any of them right where you left off — whether that's later today, or after you've tracked down missing data from another system.

Assets can also now be updated in bulk using the same import workflows. This makes it easy for you to update things like Criticality, serial numbers, and other metadata across entire lines or facilities in one shot.
