Ensure the chamber is de-pressurized before opening

Place the pump in a horizontal position and unscrew the oil plug

Does the pump have a hole marked 'oil out'?

Place a container under the pump and turn the pump

Estimate zinc anode replacement intervals

Remove, weigh, and reinstall one or more of the exterior zinc anodes before starting up the pump

After two months, remove and weigh the same zinc anode or anodes again

Enter the lapsed time in days between initial and second weighing

Enter the anode weight loss in grams

Calculate the anode consumption rate (days/gram)

Calculate future replacement intervals based on selected fraction of zinc remaining
