MAINTENANCE - Cleaning the sound absorber

Inspect muffler for non-lubricated operation

Change muffler element to avoid excessive clogging

Disconnect air supply and vent all air lines

Flush product in a well-ventilated area

Avoid using kerosene or other combustible solvents

Maintenance - Manual Lubrication

Add oil to the air motor intake port

Select the type of oil used for lubrication

Was the lubrication process completed successfully?

MAINTENANCE - Automatic Lubrication

Is the unit fitted with an automatic inline oiler?

Adjust inline oiler to feed 1 drop of oil per minute

Is the oil feed rate set correctly for high speed or continuous duty usage?

Ensure no overfeeding of oil to prevent exhaust air contamination

Operate the motor for approximately 2 hours at the maximum desired load

Measure the surface temperature of the motor on the casting opposite the pipe ports

Is the surface temperature within the normal range (not exceeding 275 degrees F/135 degrees C)?

Do not continue to operate the motor if the measured surface temperature exceeds the temperature listed on the motor

Consult with your Gast Distributor/Representative if the measured temperature exceeds the listed value
