MAINTENANCE - Manual Lubrication

Ensure the following conditions are met before lubrication

Shut down the air motor before lubrication

Add oil to the air motor intake port

MAINTENANCE - Cleaning the sound absorber

For lubricated operation, did you add 3-4 drops of oil?

Listen for changes in the sound of the motor. Does the motor sound smooth?

If motor does not sound like it is running smoothly, select the next step

SPUR AND WORM REDUCERS - Lubrication

Check the oil level in spur gear reducers stored or not operated for a period of time

Ensure gear motors have proper lubrication

Verify oil level to prevent loss of performance, damage, or failure

Use a 300 ssu at 100°F/38°C turbine quality lubricant

For horizontal operation, remove both plugs and add oil to top hole until other hole overflows

For vertical operation, fill to overflow point of upper most hole

Ensure safety precautions are followed

Disconnect air line and muffler

Select the type of flushing solvent used

Rotate the shaft by hand in both directions for a few minutes

Listen for changes in the sound of the motor

Determine the motor's condition

Add flushing solvent into motor

If using liquid solvent, pour several tablespoons directly into the intake port

MAINTENANCE - Automatic Lubrication

Check intake and exhaust filters after first 500 hours of operation

Determine how frequently filters should be checked during future operation
