Recommended Motor Bearing Lubrication Intervals

Are lubricants operated at elevated temperatures?

Increase lubrication frequency if lubricants are operated at elevated temperatures

Is the grease base being changed?

Completely purge old grease if changing grease base

Is there a risk of over greasing?

Avoid over greasing to prevent excessive bearing temperatures, lubricant and bearing failure

Remove motor components for frames 213TC and larger

Install motor adapter flange onto the new motor

Torque the 4 hex cap screws to specified values

Complete reassembly following steps

Are you changing the grease base?

Completely purge old grease if changing grease base

Ensure not to intermix grease bases (lithium, sodium, etc.)

Avoid over greasing to prevent excessive bearing temperatures and failures

Start-Up — Wiring and Grounding

Install, ground, and wire according to local and National Electrical Code requirements.

Install an all leg disconnect switch near pump.

Disconnect and lockout electrical power before installing or servicing pump.

Does the electrical supply match the pump's nameplate specifications?

Use only stranded copper wire to motor and ground.

Enter the wire size to ensure it limits the maximum voltage drop to 10% of the motor nameplate voltage.

Ensure the ground wire is at least as large as the wires to the motor.

Check that wires are color coded for ease of maintenance.

Ensure pump is inactive in freezing conditions

Has suitable antifreeze been added to the water?

Drain pump through the drain plugs if no antifreeze is present

Ensure drained liquid does not cause damage or injuries
