Verify oil level is sufficient to prevent performance loss, damage, or failure

Use a 300 ssu at 100°F/38°C turbine quality lubricant

For horizontal operation, remove both plugs and add oil to top hole until other hole overflows

Air Motor Surface Temperature Inspection

Operate the motor for approximately 2 hours at the maximum desired load

Check mark

Measure the surface temperature of the motor on the casting opposite the pipe ports

Check mark

Is the surface temperature within the normal range (not exceeding 275 degrees F/135 degrees C)?

Check mark

Do not continue to operate the motor if the measured surface temperature exceeds the temperature listed on the motor

Check mark

Consult with your Gast Distributor/Representative if the measured temperature exceeds the listed value
