Mechanical Seal Replacement (e-SV 1–125) — Conventional Seal

Check mark

Close all necessary suction and discharge valves to isolate the pump from the system.

Check mark

Drain the liquid from the pump by removing the drain plug and opening the needle valve on the vent plug.

Check mark

Remove the coupling guards, the 4 coupling hex cap screws, the coupling and coupling drive pin.

Check mark

Remove the 4 motor hex cap screws (inner screws) on the seal housing.

Check mark

Remove the seal housing plate on 33-125SV models using the two tapped holes provided.

Check mark

Turn the seal housing upside down and remove the stationary seat and o-ring.

Install the motor adapter flange onto the new motor

Torque the 4 hex cap screws to the specified values in the ENGINEERING DATA section

Complete the reassembly following steps 17 through 22 in the MECHANICAL SEAL REPLACEMENT section

Disconnect and lockout electrical power before installing or servicing pump.

Does the electrical supply match the pump's nameplate specifications?

Use only stranded copper wire to motor and ground.

Enter the wire size to ensure it limits the maximum voltage drop to 10% of the motor nameplate voltage.

Ensure the ground wire is at least as large as the wires to the motor.
