Retighten the vent plugs securely

Add distilled water to cells needing fluid

Is the water level checked by looking directly above the cell?

Ensure cells are not overfilled to prevent electrolyte spillage

Place a small tray under the drain plug or drain hose to catch the water

Turn the drain plug about 2–2½ turns

Operate the priming pump until fuel begins to run out

Retighten the drain plug by hand
