Label all wires prior to disconnection

Verify outdoor fan motors are permanently lubricated

Is lubrication desired for outdoor fan motors?

Verify vendor motors are factory lubricated for 10-year life

Verify proper operation after servicing

Refrigerant Charge Verification

Verify the factory charge of R-22

Is the correct charge indicated on the unit nameplate?

Thermal Expansion Valves (TXVs) Check

Check the number of independent refrigeration systems

Is the superheat set to 15°F leaving the evaporator coil?

Are adjustments to the superheat necessary?

Moisture/Liquid Sight Glass Inspection

Is there a clear flow of liquid in the sight glass?

Ensure power is disconnected from the unit

Do not lubricate bearings with the unit in operation

Check motor for accumulations of dust blocking cooling slots

Check for loose, damaged or misaligned drive components

Check that all mounting bolts are tight

Replace defective parts as required

Disconnect power from the blower motor unit

Ensure the unit is not in operation before starting maintenance

Pipe Plugs Removal and Cleaning

Remove both pipe plugs at each end shell

Clean out any hardened grease or foreign matter from the pipe plugs

Replace one plug on each end with a clean grease fitting

Ensure power is disconnected from the unit before performing maintenance

Do not attempt to lubricate bearings with the unit in operation

Switch the bypass VFD manually on the front of the bypass enclosure in the fan cabinet

Set the switches on the front of the bypass box for normal running
