Disconnect the battery plug and separate CN₇. Then check for continuity and measure the resistance.

1. Align the brake shoe diameter with the inner diameter of the brake drum.

- 2FBCA10, 13, 15 series ..................... 253 mm (10.120")

- 2FBCA20, 25, FBCA30 series ............. 319 mm (12.760")

2. Testing operation of adjusting screw:

(1) Press the fitting cable (2FBCA10, 13, 15 series) to the rear with your finger and perform release action.

(2) Operate the parking brake lever (2FBCA20, 25, FBCA30 series).

(a) When this procedure is followed, the adjusting lever should engage with the next tooth of the adjusting screw.

(b) When it is returned, the adjusting lever should return to the original position—one screw tooth back.

Warning: This procedure requires technical skill and should be performed by trained personnel only.

Measure the electrolyte specific gravity

Insert the hydrometer nozzle into the filler hole, and draw out the electrolyte into the outer tube.

Float the hydrometer properly within the outer tube so that it is free and not touching the upper or bottom part of the outer tube.

After allowing the bubbles in the drawn out fluid to die out, read the graduation at the part protruding above the electrolyte as shown in the illustration.

After measuring, wash the inner and outer side of the hydrometer with clean water (preferably refined water) and wipe dry with a cloth before storing. Do the same with the thermometer.

Is the electrolyte turbid or contains impurity?

If defective, take proper measures in accordance with procedures in Trouble Shooting.

Note: Wash the parts with new brake fluid and inspect them on the following items. Repair or replace any part found defective.

(1) Cylinder cup damaged or worn.

2. Inspect the outlet check valve (2FBCA20, 25, FBCA30):

(2) Valve seat worn or foreign matter lodged.

3. Inspect the piston and piston cup:

(1) Piston damaged, rusted or worn eccentric.

(2) Piston cup damaged or worn.

Inspect the preceding article items and the following items, and replace if faulty:

(2) Damages or cracked in anchor bolt
