Warning: Wear appropriate protective gear when cleaning element.

Remove the air cleaner cover and primary element

Note: Pressure of compressed air must be under 205 kPa (2.1 kgf/cm , 30 psi).

Replace the primary element with a new one if carbon or oil adheres to it

Replace the primary element once yearly or after every sixth cleaning, whichever comes first

Check the evacuator valve for dust blockage

Check the rubber seal. Replace if damaged

Important: The air cleaner uses a dry element, never apply oil.

WARNING: To avoid serious injury: Be sure to stop the engine before checking belt tension.

Utility box and maintenance cover removed

Moderate thumb pressure applied to belt between pulleys

Tension checked and within acceptable limits

Alternator mounting bolts loosened if tension is incorrect

Lever placed between the alternator and the engine block

For the refillable type battery, follow the instructions below.

Fluid level is between the UPPER and LOWER levels

When the battery is being activated, hydrogen and oxygen gases in the battery are extremely explosive.

Batteries, battery posts, terminals and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds, and other chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Battery cap is not removed while the engine is running

IMPORTANT: Mishandling the battery shortens the service life and adds to maintenance costs.

WARNING: To avoid serious injury: Be sure to stop the engine and remove the key when attempting to make the following checks and changes.

Never fail to check the fuel lines periodically. The fuel lines are subject to wear and aging. Fuel may leak out onto the running engine, causing a fire.

The fuel line connections should be checked annually or every 100 service hours, whichever comes first.

Park the vehicle on a flat surface, raise the cargo bed, mount the safety support and shut off the engine.

Check the fuel line. If it is made of rubber and ages regardless of service period.

If the fuel line and clamps are found to be damaged or deteriorated, replace them.

Check fuel filter, if it is clogged by debris or contaminated with water, replace it.

When the fuel line is disconnected for maintenance or repair, close both ends of the fuel line with a piece of clean cloth or paper to prevent dust and dirt from entering. In addition, particular care must be taken not to admit dust and dirt into the fuel pump. Entrance of even a small amount of dust or dirt cause premature wear and malfunction of the fuel pump and injector components.

Sign off on the fuel line / filter check

WARNING: To avoid serious injury: Before touching any part of an exhaust system, be sure that it has sufficient time to cool! Always wear safety goggles and a (face) mask. The particulate matter contained in the muffler contains chemicals that are harmful to people, animals and marine life. If you are unable to do this work, have it done by your KUBOTA Dealer.

Cleaning spark arrester of muffler: This swirl type spark arrester was examined, tested, and qualified in accordance with the USDA Forest Service Standard 5100-1c, 'Spark Arresters for Internal Combustion Engines'.

Maintenance & cleanout procedure: The swirl type spark arrester should be cleaned and inspected after every 100 hours of use.

Drain plug located on the bottom of the muffler body removed
