Ensure the unit is completely off and no air pressure is in the oil reservoir.

Disconnect, tag and lockout power supply to the starter.

Remove screws holding the top plate to the separator housing and lift the top plate from the separator housing.

Lift the separator from the separator housing.

Separator Inspection and Replacement

Inspect and/or replace the separator as necessary. Ensure the following are checked:

Apply grease to the o-ring before installing or reinstalling the separator.

Disconnect, lockout and tagout the unit from the power supply

Remove the relief plug and free hole of hardened grease

Add grease with a hand-operated grease gun

Leave the relief plug temporarily off

Refer to “Excessive Oil consumption” if oil consumption is high

Observe if the unit loads and unloads properly

Check discharge pressure and temperature

Enter the discharge temperature

Check Panel LED’s for advisories

Check if 'CHANGE AIR FILTER' message is displayed

Inspect the heavy-duty air filter for dirt and debris

Clean the air filter if necessary

Replace the air filter if cleaning is insufficient

Verify air filter is properly installed

Ensure no loss of compressor air delivery

Record Air and Oil Discharge Temperature

Record Compressor Oil Inlet Temperature

Record Oil Cooler Oil Pressure Differential (Air-Cooled Radiator)

Record Oil Cooler Oil Pressure Differential (Water-Cooled Heat Exchanger)

Record Oil Cooler Water Pressure Differential (Water-Cooled Heat Exchanger)
