Use appropriate safety equipment, including hearing and eye protection.

Follow safety precautions when performing the PRV check on an operating machine.

Testing the Pressure Relief Valve

Select the method for testing the valve

Consider local legislation when testing the valve

Did the pressure relief valve close itself and is not leaky?

Press the STOP button on the control panel and wait until the screw compressor comes to a stop and the screw compressor unit is depressurized.

Check that the pressure gauge shows no more than 4.4 PSI.

Relieve the screw compressor unit by slowly opening the screw plug (oil filling opening) with integrated air vent slots.

Set the on-site main switch to '0' (OFF) and secure it against being switched on.

Check for dirt accumulation on the following components

Is cleaning required for any of the components checked?

Ensure the compressor is not powered before starting maintenance.

For L90RS-L132RS models, disconnect the system from the mains and wait 10 minutes before touching electrical components.

Ensure the system is depressurized before maintenance.

Set the on-site main switch to '0' (OFF) and secure it against being switched on.

Be cautious of hot surfaces when performing maintenance.

Filter Replacement and Maintenance

Replace the following filter elements as indicated by the compressor controller

Remove the mounting screws of the filter mat.

Warning: Ensure safety before starting

Open main disconnect, lockout and tagout power supply to starter before working on the electric motor.

Disconnect, lockout and tagout the unit from the power supply

Remove the relief plug and free hole of hardened grease

Wipe lubrication fitting clean and add grease with a hand-operated grease gun

Refer to motor nameplate for appropriate quantity and interval

Leave the relief plug temporarily off

Reconnect the unit and run for about 20 minutes to expel the excess grease

Shut down the compressor and relieve the system of all pressure.

Disconnect, lockout, and tagout the power supply to the compressor package.

Turn off the screw compressor unit and secure it against accidental restarts.

Ensure the demister vessel is depressurized.

Slowly open the oil screw plug to relieve any residual pressure.

Open the oil drain from the pressure reservoir.
