Raise system operating pressure to 75% of the relief valve set pressure

Manually open the relief valve with the hand lever and hold for a few seconds

Check shutdowns for proper operation

Is the 'CHANGE AIR FILTER' LED illuminated?

Ensure genuine Gardner Denver air filter elements are available.

Unfasten the clips and pull out the filter element.

Visually inspect the filter element. Is cleaning necessary?

Soak the element in warm water with mild non-sudsing detergent for 15 minutes.

Disconnect, lockout and tagout the unit from the power supply

Remove the relief plug and free hole of hardened grease

Add grease with a hand-operated grease gun

Leave the relief plug temporarily off

Ensure the unit is completely off and no air pressure is in the oil reservoir.

Disconnect, tag and lockout power supply to the starter.

Remove screws holding the top plate to the separator housing and lift the top plate from the separator housing.

Lift the separator from the separator housing.

Inspect and/or replace the separator as necessary. Ensure the following are checked:

Apply grease to the o-ring before installing or reinstalling the separator.

Inspect the filter element for ruptures, cracks, or pinholes using a bright light inside the element.

Measure the pressure drop through the filter with a freshly cleaned element while the compressor is running at full load.

Is the pressure drop below three (3) inches (76 mm) of water?

Has the filter element been cleaned six (6) times?

Replace the filter element if any of the above conditions are met.
