The MQTT integration connects data from an MQTT broker to MaintainX. By streaming MQTT topics into MaintainX, you can automate meter readings, trigger work orders, and monitor asset health in real time—empowering your team to shift from reactive to proactive maintenance.
The MaintainX MQTT On-Premise Agent is built and managed by MaintainX.

- Connect MaintainX with any MQTT-compatible device or platform, including brokers like HiveMQ, Mosquitto, and Azure IoT Hub, via the On-Premise Agent
- Create Meters in MaintainX automatically using your MQTT topics
- Configure custom rules to trigger work orders or update asset statuses automatically
- Support for multiple MQTT brokers
How it works
- Book a tour with a product expert. If you’re already a MaintainX customer, ask your Administrator to enable the OT Data Connectors feature, then follow our MQTT On-Premise Agent Setup Guide.
- In MaintainX, create an MQTT Instance and generate an access token for secure communication.
- Install and configure the MaintainX On-Premise Agent on your local network.
- Map incoming MQTT topics to MaintainX meters, or enable Auto Create Meters to create new Meters automatically using the topic information.
- Stream live data into MaintainX to generate work orders, update meters, and track asset performance automatically.

- Must have MaintainX’s Premium or Enterprise Plan
- Must have an active MQTT broker
- Must use the MaintainX On-Premise Agent
