AI has promised to make manufacturers more efficient for decades–but it has felt like a distant dream for many companies. Data challenges, costs, and resistance to change have held maintenance teams back from adopting AI.

But there’s a reason 93% of manufacturing executives plan to invest in AI in the next 12 months.

New advances have turned the technology from a future ambition into an instant productivity booster. By automating menial work and allowing frontline technicians to focus on critical and complex tasks, AI is becoming a tool maintenance teams can’t live without.

In addition, as budget pressures and labor shortages continue to challenge manufacturers, AI presents an opportunity to increase frontline worker productivity and drive overall operational efficiency for manufacturers.

Today, we’re excited to announce new AI-driven tools to help your team get more done within MaintainX.

With MaintainX, you now can:

  • Create checklists and SOPs faster with an AI-powered Procedure Generator
  • Catch mistakes and get ahead of downtime with AI-Powered Anomaly Detection
  • Keep your team in sync using AI-powered Voice Memos

Together, these new features help you save time on admin work, focus on more critical maintenance tasks, and accelerate your digital transformation.

MaintainX AI-Powered Procedure Generation

Create SOPs Faster with AI-Powered Procedure Generation

Digital checklists make it easier for technicians to follow the right steps, complete work orders, and record information in your CMMS. But many teams still rely on paper manuals and tribal knowledge, because creating and digitizing checklists can take a long time.

To help solve this challenge, you can now create maintenance and safety procedures faster using generative AI within MaintainX.

Simply ask the Procedure Generator to build an SOP for you, using information like the equipment name, including specific tasks, and opting to require a signature from technicians.

You also can build new procedures by attaching additional files for reference. For example, if your procedures are currently in PDF, image, or even scribbled on a napkin, you can simply upload these documents to be automatically translated into a digitized procedure in MaintainX.

The Procedure Generator allows you to review the checklist and make any necessary changes before you make it available to your technicians to use with work orders.

Streamlining this process with AI will help you accelerate your digital transformation, increase CMMS adoption, and ensure that your team records more of its maintenance work. Not to mention–your team can save hundreds of hours on extremely tedious work.

Generating procedures using file attachments will be made available over the next few weeks. If you’re interested in early access, please contact support.

MaintainX AI-Powered Anomaly Detection

Catch Mistakes to Get Ahead of Downtime with Anomaly Detection

Data integrity is critical to maintenance managers. Even minor mistakes can make reports unreliable. Plus, when anomalies are missed, there’s a greater risk of equipment failure.

MaintainX now provides Anomaly Detection for customers on the Enterprise plan. Using historical data from previous inspections, MaintainX can instantly determine if data entered by a technician seems abnormal. When MaintainX detects anomalies, the technician is asked to check the value for accuracy.

With AI providing checks and balances, you can reduce the number of mistakes that end up in your work order data. And you can help to catch early signs of machine failure, which can save you from unplanned downtime. That’s a win-win.

MaintainX AI-Powered Voice Memos

Keep Your Team in Sync with AI-Powered Voice Memos

For busy maintenance professionals, dedicating time to typing out long status updates is hard.

We’ve found that when technicians need to type to share knowledge or add context to a work order, they are less likely to do it. This makes communication gaps more likely and limits the amount of data recorded in your CMMS when work orders are completed.

AI-Powered Voice Memos enable maintenance teams to communicate more easily in the field and enrich their work order information. Instead of typing out long messages, technicians can provide job context easily on the go, and MaintainX’s new AI feature will automatically transcribe and save it to the work order history.

Are You Ready to Accomplish More with AI?

With today’s release, we’re making it even easier for frontline teams to be productive with MaintainX.
