Cover / Guard Removal
WARNING: Disconnect and lockout power source and visually verify that machine has come to a complete stop before removing any cover or guard.
Ensure power source is disconnected and locked out.
Visually verify that the machine has come to a complete stop.
Remove the following covers and guards to service the various areas of the machine
Covers and guards that generally do not require removal
Is the machine ready for operation after servicing?
Post-removal safety check
Ensure all removed covers and guards are reinstalled properly.
Verify that all tools and materials are cleared from the machine area.
1 Daily Dicer Machine Cleaning
Pre-Cleaning Preparation
Ensure all covers and guards are in place before starting the machine
Maintain a safe distance from the machine while it is running
Cleaning Process
Clean outside of machine with water
Flush product from cutting parts by directing a stream of water or cleaning solution into feed opening while machine is running
Stop the machine and disconnect and lock out power source
Thoroughly wash all sheet metal covers
Remove and disassemble all cutting parts
Dicing Unit Adjustment
Hinge Tube Adjustment
Check hinge tube clearance
Loosen the two pinch bolts that hold the support bar on the main casting
Insert a .0015" (.038 mm) feeler gauge between the retaining cap and the end of the hinge tube
Push the support bar into the main casting and tighten the pinch bolts
Remove the feeler gauge
Circular Knife Spindle Adjustment
Check gear alignment on circular knife spindle with gear on main support casting
Ensure circular knives are centered in the slots of the slicing knife holder
Drive Train Inspection
Cleaning
Wash all parts thoroughly in a suitable de-greasing solution
Clean holes in casting to remove remaining grease or foreign matter
Bearings Inspection
Inspect bearings for rust, scoring, or flat spots on rollers
Is there any doubt about the serviceability of the bearings?
Install new bearings if necessary
Shafts Inspection
Inspect shafts for rust, pits, and deep scoring in areas of oil seal contact
Pre-Start Check
Safety
Ensure all operators have a thorough understanding of the safe operation of this machine (Figure 19)
Verify that safety switches are in working order with guards securely in place
Location
Confirm that the machine has ample space on all sides for safe and easy movement in a clean, dry work area
Electrical Power
Check that the machine is properly wired
Ensure the starter enclosure door screws are securely fastened
