Ensure only qualified personnel are performing the inspection

Verify that personnel are experienced in refrigeration and high voltage electrical equipment

Inspect the carton for any damage upon receipt

Note any suspected damage on the freight bill

Send a written notice to the freight carrier's agent if damage is suspected

Retain the original shipping container if damage is noticed after uncrating

Clean & sanitize ice machine as required

Check if flaker is harvesting properly

Check for bubbles in sight glass

Ensure the ice flaker is in a cold ambient location and/or supplied with cold water.

Check for frost on the compressor body to determine if the valve is overfeeding.

Verify that there are no bubbles in the sight-glass.

Adjust the EPR valve before attempting to adjust the TXV valve.

Remove the adjustment stem cover.

Turn the adjustment stem 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time.

Disconnect main power to the ice flaker

Remove electric wiring cover on the drive motor

Unplug the power leads from machine

Remove the (4) 1⁄4” bolts attaching the gear motor to the mounting hub

Pull the gear motor straight up from the mounting hub

Installation of New Offset Style Gear Motor

Ensure the ice machine is turned off and locked out

Ensure the evaporator is at room temperature

Obtain industrial machine tool type feeler gauges

Measure clearance at the top of the blade using feeler gauge

Measure clearance at the bottom of the blade using feeler gauge

Rotate blade 60 degrees and recheck clearance

Repeat clearance check at a minimum of six points on the circumference
