6.2.5 Lubricate the bearings after a shutdown period

Flush out the bearings and bearing frame with a light oil to remove contaminants

Flush the bearing housing with the proper lubricating oil to ensure oil quality after cleaning

Check the seal and all flush piping before starting the pump

Ensure the cleanliness of the pumped fluid

Verify the installation of cartridge-type mechanical seals

Keep the manufacturer's reference drawing for future maintenance

Verify the required flush fluid and attachment points as per the seal drawing

5.9 Make the final alignment of the pump and driver

Run the unit under actual operating conditions to reach operating temperature

Shut down the pump and the driver

Check the alignment while the unit is still hot

Enter the Total Indicated Reading (T.I.R.) at operating temperature

Is the T.I.R. 0.05 mm | 0.002 in. or less?

Re-lubrication intervals by speed

Enter the actual operating speed (rpm)

Enter the grease quantity for suction side (oz)

Enter the grease quantity for discharge side (oz)

Lubricating-grease requirements

Is the temperature of pumped fluid less than 177°C | 350°F?

Was the rotor and old grease removed before regreasing?

Allow all system and pump components to cool before handling

Drain and flush the pump with a conductive fluid if the pumped fluid is non-conductive

Position the pump for disassembly
