Flush the oil reservoir to remove all grit particles in the oil reservoir sump

Check that the shaft or sleeve is free of pits, burrs, or sharp edges.
Remove any burrs and sharp edges by polishing with a fine emery cloth.

Replace impeller vanes if grooved deeper than 1.6 mm or worn evenly more than 0.8 mm.
Replace vane edges if cracks, pitting, or corrosion damage are observed.
Remove the bowl and impeller wear rings
Remove locking methods from wear rings
Cut two V-shaped grooves on the bowl or impeller wear ring approximately 180° apart using a diamond-point chisel.
Knock the end of one half of the ring in and pry the ring out using a chisel or drift punch.
For high-alloy materials, machine the wear ring off using a lathe without damaging the ring seat.
